Press Release: Anti-Corruption Arrest

This morning a 43 year old Caymanian businessman, from the Prospect area, was arrested by Officers from the Royal Cayman Islands Police Anti-Corruption Unit, supported by Officers from other Royal Cayman Islands Investigative Units, including the Financial Crimes Unit. The Anti- Corruption Unit is responsible for investigating serious allegations of Corruption on behalf of the Cayman Islands Anti-Corruption Commission.

The male has been arrested upon suspicion of committing the following offences:

1. Abuse of Public Office contrary to section 17 Anti-Corruption Law 2008;

2. Breach of Trust contrary to section 13 Anti-Corruption Law 2008;

3. Conflict of Interest contrary to section 19 Anti-Corruption Law 2008; and

4. Money laundering contrary to section 133 Proceeds of Crime Law 2008.
