Adrian (Gus) Pope retired in 2008 after more than twenty years with Maples and Calder, the largest law firm in the Cayman Islands. During his time with the firm he served as global managing partner and head of its investment funds practice. Subsequently he served on the Board of the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority from 2015 to 2018.

 

Mr Pope was called to the Bar of England and Wales and admitted as an attorney-at-law in the Cayman Islands in 1987. He holds law degrees from Cambridge University and the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Pope was appointed to the Commission on 15 August 2020 for a three year term and was appointed as Chairman on 15 August 2022 for a one year term, which was subsequently extended to 30 June 2024.
