ACC Statement on the Arrest of 29 June 2017

This morning Investigators from the Anti-Corruption Commission, with the assistance of the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service, arrested a 47 year old male from the George Town area.

Responsible for investigating serious allegations of corruption the Investigators arrested this individual on suspicion of committing the following offences:

1. Secret Commissions – contrary  to s.21 of the Anti-Corruption Law 2008; and
2. Money laundering – contrary to s.135 of the Proceeds of Crime Law 2008.

He has been detained for questioning at the Prisoner Detention Centre (Fairbanks).  

The investigation continues therefore no further details will be released at this time.
