ACC Statement Re: Arrest of 9 May 2018

Investigators from the Anti-Corruption Commission, with the assistance of the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service, arrested an individual on 9 May 2018 in connection with an ongoing investigation and a previous arrest made on 12 October 2017.

Responsible for investigating serious allegations of corruption the Investigators arrested the 22 year old male, from the George Town area, on suspicion of committing the following offences:

  • Bribery of Public Officials – contrary  to s.10 of the Anti-Corruption Law (2016 Revision);
  • Fraud on the Government – contrary to s.11 of the Anti-Corruption Law (2016 Revision); and
  • Breach of Trust – contrary to s.13 of the Anti-Corruption Law (2016 Revision).
